CHALLENGE:
Bare Escentuals isn't your run of the mill cosmetics company. They are a brand based on feeling, with a mantra of love, understanding, and community. With a tight time frame and limited reach, creating a video that lives up to this ideal is no easy task—but we took the challenge in stride. The creative needed to appeal to a wide range of users, while focusing on key brand attributes. The spot would be shown in a number of formats, media, and markets—so it had to be a few things all at once.
SOLUTION:
By focusing on the compact nature of the packaging, and using bright color and whimsical music as a backdrop, our animation conveyed the idea that makeup can be good for you. A beautiful product is encased in an elegant package, and the camera movement and point of view help accentuate the portable nature of the design. Moving away from predictable imagery and situations, we were able to create a unique message for the company.
RESULT:
The spot runs in trade shows, on the internet, and has even made an appearance in Times Square. The simple message reaches the audience quickly, and the approach has worked well to aid in adoption and sales.
